The whole town centre under water Christmas night into Boxing Day. The rain stopped, the waters receded, the clean-up begins. Up here on the tops we are dry and grateful. How many times can our little town recover from this onslaught?
I've been thinking of you. It all is so weird and scary. And I wonder how many times these cities and towns have been flooded previously thoughout the centuries? I know, we like to blame the authorities and politics but that's just a vent.
Keep your calm, roll up your sleevs and get the wellies on. That's all we can do. Maybe helping other will be the good that's to come from it.
Yes indeed, thinking of you and so many others as the rains and winds go on and on. As Sabine says, hopefully new friendships are made this way as you support one another.
Glad to know that you are dry. I too was thinking of you, seeing such dramatic pictures of your town and others under water. From a distance, it seems unreal - all too real and sad and daunting, no doubt, for everyone affected. Feeling surges of the love I have for many places in Yorkshire and Lancashire.
I too saw the footage today, so sorry, something so exhausting about flooding and water damage. Counting one's own blessings up here on the high ground only goes so far.

I was thinking of you too. Glad that your house is ok.
