Stress

Forecast is for more snow and probably rather a lot of it, just not clear exactly when. Really hoping it's sooner rather than later and the school just announces it is closed first thing, so I don't have to make an agonising decision about going in tomorrow (car? train? not at all?) Colleagues regaling me this morning with stories of walking home through blizzards really didn't help. They mostly live only a few miles away, I more than eighteen miles away.

Meanwhile sleep better but still a problem. Looking forward to the weekend more than usual!

That's awful, really it is. I was stranded in a massive snow and ice traffic jam two nights ago and eventually abandoned the car on a footpath and walked home - found a bus for half of it but was shattered nevertheless. Winter can be so awful and I hope you will be safe. Just keep in mind that we will not even think about it in a few weeks when the first crocus are out.

That's something I don't miss, though even small decisions about what one should and shouldn't expect of oneself become worrisome at this season.

I just checked our local website and noticed they've cancelled the school and public buses for the morning, and we're really only threatened with a dusting. Our little postie girl looks very young to be bombing about these roads in her van... I think about you and fret for others. Please don't take any risks, no matter how important it seems to get off to a good start, no one will expect you to put yourself at risk to get there.

I hope they close the school too!
