Here Comes The Kitchen

We walked up to the new house through the snow this morning, and arrived, glowing, to find the very last of the plastering underway. The house we will live in is emerging, with its lovely new skim coat on.

The kitchen units are in these big boxes, awaiting their moment to be revealed, and installed in their appointed places...

The door was open to keep the air moving to dry the plaster. The builder's hands must have been like ice...

After the carpet man had been to measure the hall, stairs and landing, we walked home, now in sunshine. The snow looked particularly fetching on the brambles...

And on the walls...

Oh, the snow is beautiful! And I can just imagine your lovely kitchen. Interesting that it's plastered in the old way and not using modern drywall. You must be getting excited to see it all coming together.

How exciting. I have a few walls here that could do with that kind of plaster.

Happy Christmas to you and yours.

M-L - yes, very excited! Hopefully the heating will be working again tomorrow so we don't have to worry about burst pipes! Drywall would never give the lovely finish of a skim coat!

h - Happy Christmas to you too!
