The fire glows gloriously red in the wood burner, the wind intense in its urgent whisperings, today a symphony of hail and rain, sun and rainbows.

Mixed
Want to say something not sure what. Life is very full, very rich, very hard ... to mix a string of metaphors. I'm busy, and my head and heart are full. It is an intense time with a lot to digest. It does not easily yield its pleasures and joys, though they are nonetheless there, waiting to be prised out of the ground. Specifically? Work is a strange dance with many movements, and takes me well out of the proverbial comfort zone several times a week. Especially tomorrow when I start with my first group of medical students. Deep breaths and Sauvignon blanc (tonight the Sauv, the deep breaths both now and then!) And A is going through storms, with his feet on the ground and his face forward, wet with rain and tears. And I am here at the end of a phone, firmly tied by heart-strings, and going down to see him and hug him in a couple of weeks.

This post and the one before reveal you to be an autumn person - and this all feels quintessentially autumn - and rich. Fire glowing in you also.
This rings very true, what a rainbow of chaos this life is.
Just to say how much I have appreciated reading your blog. I'm glad to have found you via the many blog contacts we share.
My thoughts go out to you and A.
Welcome RR
Hi Sabine
Signs, yes. Born in the darkening and cooling time of the year, in the middle in fact of a snowy night in November. I love the glow, and the glorious dying of the leaves.
All your comments bring warmth and courage.
I love how you write. Positive thoughts for you and A!
