L took me out for curry at our local this evening by way of distraction, and initially with the idea of playing darts with our friend S. But S had forgotten, and I didn't feel like being that visible - standing up in the bar playing darts renders one public and available in a way I'm not up for right now. We sat by the struggling fire instead, and played flies on the wall to local life. There seems to be a trend for 50/60 something couples to get married. One pair sitting behind two bottles of bubbly, evidently left over from their wedding party at the pub on Friday night. On the way home there was ice forming on the puddles, sparkly frost on the cars, and a glorious almost full moon presiding over all. Sub-zero temperatures, and snow forecast for Friday and Saturday. But first two clear and bright days, so we'll head to the allotment in the morning and get the carpet down over as much of it as possible.
Limbo on the job front. I was told I'd hear 'by Friday'. It's Tuesday.
