This Weekend

• Banana and walnut cake in the oven by 10am
• If you soften the butter in the microwave for even 10 seconds too long, it melts
• Nine baked potatoes in the oven - through the glass door they look quite a crowd
• A 'craft fair' at the community centre across the road (it takes two of my therapist friends five minutes to return from it)
• Warm hats
• Dirty windows
• Parsnip and apple soup arriving by car
• Success, celebration, empathy, support, listening - the joys of a peer group
• Hugs
• Washing up - three lots
• Bath - mango and orange blossom birthday bubbles
• Black Books - surreal slapstick strange silliness. Three of the funniest faces
• Ready for bed 9.30...
• Mouse in the kitchen - cue crawling around on the floor, pulling out the fridge, gaffer taping over holes, turning the sofa upside down
• Talking to Mum on the phone
• Final push on the loft preparation - three big boards standing outside
• Thinking about job interview
• Walking in the cold in my hat
• Meeting S and C also out walking, in hats - C buried her brother on Friday and all things considered seems resilient
• Green & Black's 60% chocolate with cherries - the cherries are eye-wateringly sour!
• L clearing leaves at the allotment
• Trying to catch up with best friend J - texts and messages
• The exhaust emissions warning light illuminated on my car dashboard. Manual says take it to get the engine checked. I see £££££ again...
• Shoulders feel stiff
• Clothes for interview
• Train times
• Person spec
• Reviewing my illustrious career
• Sausages tonight, and inevitably a bottle of some robust red!
